What can I say? Often too much, sometimes not enough. This is my playground site..just here to have some fun and giggles...I have other sites where I'm all serious-like. C'mon in, have a cup of coffee ( or beverage of your choice) and meander through ;-)

The State of Stumbling
And What I'm going to doPart One I took a bit of a vacation a while ago, and I had very limited access to the internet. When I came back, I realized that in order to enjoy my stumbling experience, I had to change the ways that I stumble. I have been struggling of late as to whether I should continue with SU at all. The jury is still out. There are so many great things about SU....and so much that is discouraging me. I've been stumbling since early 2005. I recognize that 3 1/2years is forever in internet years, and that this network is growing , changing and is not what it used to be. Fine. I accept that. Change is inevitable. I accept that I have to change and adapt as well. Let me just talk about "old school stumbling" for a second. When I started there were131,807 stumblers. In the "olden days" stumblers tended to be a wee bit older,a wee bit more tech oriented, a wee bit wiser, a wee bit more discriminating in their tastes. They were halcyon days. Every stumble was a delight..was of quality. Each stumble had thoughtful and well reasoned reviews. Reviews that helped you. It was a fascinating community...and one that was tight, and helpful, and respectful. Really, it was all about QUALITY. Let's compare that to new school stumbling. There are now about 5 million stumblers. The demographic has changed. With this change has come a change in the stumbling experience. You have the "friends game" -Quantity. You have the "Top stumbler Game" - Quantity You have the "game the system Game" - Quantity. You have the Spam game" - Quantity. Quantity over Quality. Over and Over again. This is not to say that I don't love my SU. I think it is by far the best social network out there. And it is still possible to "stumble oldschool" It's harder, it takes a little more work on your part, and ultimately, and ironically, many old schoolers, the ones who helped build stumbleupon, are adopting this strategy So, how do you stumble "old school" and try to get quality content? What am I going to do to enhance my stumbling experience? Part two
